Beyond the Old Town, Poniente Beach is to the west of Levante, and comprises a mammoth golden curl of excellent fine sand. Huge! If you don't want quite such a hectic time having fun in the sun this will be your better option as Poniente tends to be slightly less crowded.
There's still plenty of facilities close at hand and the inevitable (yet necessary) army of sun beds, but in general there's a more relaxed and laid back feel here - and a bit more space. Families, young ones and the not-so-young- but-young-at-heart are very well catered for and have all they need to enjoy great swimming (there're no rocks) and sunbathing. The sand is spotlessly clean each morning you can even see the tracks where the night tractor has been. There's also a treat in store at the end of the day as Poniente beach boasts some great sunsets.

The El Faro Apartments are located in an excellent location 25 metres from the Poniente Beach. All 90 apartments on 21 floors face south and can enjoy wonderful views. On the complex there are lots of facilities to enjoy, in the immediate vicinity there are an abundance of bars, international restaurants and a selection of shops.
A little further you have the Old town area with all its narrow cobbled streets lined with typical Spanish shops and boutiques.
